Two more victories for NV girls

Addie Lamb had a career-high 16 points as the Wolverines girls basketball team thwarted Bedford at every turn in a 62-28 win last Tuesday.

Lamb was lethal from behind the 3-point arc with five made triples. She added three assists and two rebounds.

The Wolverines dished out 14 assists, led by four from Annie Herr, three from Lamb, three for Macy Kuhns and three more from Davis.

Nodaway Valley hounded the Bulldogs relentlessly on the defensive end of the floor with 23 steals.

Jodi Baudler and Lexi Shike each played robber with four steals apiece as NV never gave up double digits in a quarter and outscored Bedford 24-6 in the third quarter.

LIBERTY CENTER — The Wolverine girls once again turned in a notable defensive performance that led to a win, this time a 43-28 result Friday over hosts Southeast Warren.

Alyssa Davis led NV with 10 points, while Annie Herr added nine more.

NV outscored the Warhawks 18-9 in the second quarter to grab a comfortable lead the rest of the way, and held SEW to just three third-quarter points.

Blaire Steenhoek, one of Class 1A's better statistical players, scored 17, but couldn't do enough to run through the Wolverines' persistent pressure.
