Free family events will promote new youth centers

From 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, Freedom for Youth Ministries will be hosting a winter Freedom Quest at Family Fun Center. This is a free family event with crafts, games, prizes, food and music. The evening also includes the message of Jesus through a fun scavenger hunt. There will be a second event hosted April 17 at the same time and venue.

Freedom Quest is a traveling ministry event scheduled to be in Chariton, Albia, Creston, Greenfield, Boone and Jefferson twice this spring.

“We hope these events will help us continue to build relationships in the community and inspire people to get involved with starting a local youth center,” said Freedom for Youth’s South Central regional manager.“We want to provide a safe place where youth can come and discover their gifts and talents and grow in the areas of faith, education, employment and leadership.”

Freedom for Youth Ministries launches youth centers throughout the state of Iowa, and the ministry is gearing up to start a center in Creston.

Freedom for Youth Ministries, founded in Des Moines in 2003, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit on a mission to reach Iowa’s youth with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Programs include tutoring, after-school activities, meals and supportive employment training—all centered on the message of Jesus Christ’s saving grace. Freedom currently operates in Des Moines, Mitchellville, Knoxville, Huxley, Johnston, Perry, Stuart, Winterset and Carlisle.
