Accidents

No citations were issued after an accident 3:49 p.m. Sunday on Ringgold Union Street.

According to a Union County Sheriff report, Rachel Ann Boyer, 14, of Kent was driving a 2009 Chrysler east on the Ringgold-Union County line when she lost control of her vehicle after going over a small rise on the gravel road. Boyer over-corrected and slid across the roadway and went into the north ditch where the vehicle rolled and came to rest on its wheels next to a culvert. Boyer was taken to Greater Regional Medical Center by a private party. Her condition is unknown.

Damage estimate was $3,000 to Boyer’s vehicle.

Allison Marie Miller, 38, of Creston was cited for failure to yield half the roadway after an accident 5:47 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Cherry Street and REA roads.

According to a Union County Sheriff report, Miller, driving a 2017 Chrysler, stopped at the intersection, went to turn south onto Cherry Street Road but turned too sharply, striking a 1994 Dodge driven by Gary David Loomis, 57, of Afton that was turning onto REA Road.

Damage estimates were $5,000 to Miller’s vehicle and $1,500 to Loomis’ vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 3:06 p.m. Tuesday on County Highway P46 in Ringgold County.

According to a Ringgold County Sheriff report, David Allen Kettwich, 52, of Clarinda was driving south in a 2013 Chevrolet on P46 when he dozed off and drove his vehicle into the east ditch, striking a culvert and landing it on its side.

Damage estimate was $6,000 to Kettwich’s vehicle.
