Bedford/Lenox second at Coach Riley Invitational

NV hosts 9-team meet

GREENFIELD — Bedford/Lenox boasted winners in Chance Strough at 220 pounds, Dylan Heideman at 132 pounds, Drew Venteicher at 152 and Derek Venteicher at 180 during Saturday’s Coach Riley Invitational at Nodaway Valley.

Those performances led Bedford/Lenox to second place at the invite with 116 points, second to Van Meter Earlham’s 184.

Heideman pinned Riley Domina in 56 seconds in the 132 final for first.

Drew Venteicher pinned Caleb Swalla of Van Meter/Earlham in 4:22 to win and Derek Venteicher pinned AHSTW’s Joe Kenkel in 49 seconds at 180 pounds.

Strough pinned Brady Cananda of AHSTW in 4:59 for the victory.

Nate Briggs picked up third at 145, and Kyler Christensen was third at 285.

Marcus Daughton at 160 and Bryce Shaha at 106 were Mount Ayr’s two first place winners.

Daughton defeated Luke Jones of Central Decatur by 9-4 decision to win the final. Shaha, a freshman who is off to a 5-0 start, defeated Riley Harger of Van Meter/Earlham by 6-2 decision to win his final.

Josh Cox picked up a second place at heavyweight and Trae Ehlen was third at 113.

Nodaway Valley’s Austin Wilson earned second at 145 and Parker Manning picked up the Wolverines’ other victory.
