Taco John’s of Iowa unites patrons in support of Susan G. Komen

Once again, Taco John’s of Iowa, on behalf of its patrons, was able to present a major donation to Susan G. Komen Greater Iowa. The presentation of a check in the amount of $22,149 to representatives of Komen Greater Iowa took place Nov. 21 at Taco John’s on Ingersoll Avenue in Des Moines.

“Our Taco John’s customers recognize the tremendous support Komen Greater Iowa has given to the organization’s global promise to ‘save lives and end breast cancer forever,’” said Jeff Brands, Taco John’s of Iowa CEO. “Their response to our donation drive says it all!”

Taco John’s of Iowa funded the donation through the Taco John’s Des Moines area advertising cooperative sponsorship of the local Race for the Cure, complemented by a point-of-purchase program during October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Restaurant patrons who purchased a pink ribbon for $1 received a “Thank You” coupon for free Potato Oles to use on their next visit.

Funds will be used to make the greatest impact possible on breast health education, screening services, treatment options and research provided by Komen Greater Iowa within a service area made up of 106 counties, including the entire state of Iowa.
