5 minutes with Kysa Downing, County Youth Outreach Coordinator at ISU Extension Office

AGE: 22

HOMETOWN: Creston, Iowa

FAMILY: I have two brothers. I'm a twin, so I have my mom and dad, Karen and Steve Downing, and then I have my brothers Chisum Downing and Heath Downing.

EDUCATION: I was an agricultural communications major at Iowa State University with an emphasis in animal science.

WHEN DID YOU START AT ISU EXTENSION OFFICE? A month and two weeks ago.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF THE JOB? I like that it's not the same every day. There's variety and different things to do. I'm kind of a busy body, so I like to stay busy.

FAVORITE FARM ANIMAL: Cows

WHAT WERE YOU INVOLVED WITH IN 4-H? Everything. I was on State 4-H Council, I represented Iowa for a National 4-H Congress and Conference, I was on Adair County Youth Council, I took about 30 exhibits to county fair, plus all the cattle and pigs.

FAVORITE THANKSGIVING FOOD ITEM: The cranberry sauce

WHAT ARE YOU THANKFUL FOR THIS YEAR? I'm thankful just to be around family and we're all still together and we get to spend time together.

ARE YOU DOING ANY BLACK FRIDAY SHOPPING? Yes, but I'm not going to go crazy this year and go out at midnight. I'm going to start at like 6.
