Ronald Lee Griffin II, 53, 315 N. Sycamore St., was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of possession of a controlled substance 10 a.m. Friday at 906 E. Taylor St.

According to a Creston Police report, officers were dispatched to the Social Security Office for a subject in possession of drug paraphernalia. A concerned citizen reported seeing the subject, Griffin, with a pipe in his possession. Officers were able to make contact with Griffin, who had his right hand in his pocket and was standing in a protective manner of the pocket. Officers asked him if he had a drug pipe in his pocket, and Griffin responded with expletive, and said “No” while exhibiting signs of deception. Officers then asked if he had any weapons and asked him to take his hand out of his pocket. Griffin refused several times, before removing several items from his pocket including a small glass pipe with residue consistent with methamphetamine. Griffin was then placed under arrest, and resisted officers’ attempts to place him into custody. After Griffin was successfully arrested, a search revealed he had three small glass pipes containing residue which field tested positive to be methamphetamine and a jar of a green leafy substance consistent with marijuana.

Griffin was released on $7,000 bond.

Jacob Jack Davis, 22, of Shannon City was charged on an Adams County warrant for failure to appear 11:14 a.m. Friday at 604 W. Montgomery St.

Davis was released to the custody of Adams County.

Jack Howard Davis, 49, of Orient was charged on a Union County warrant for failure to appear on the original charges of unlawful possession of prescription drugs and driving while license denied or revoked 2:03 p.m. Friday in the 500 block of W. Prairie St.

Davis was being held on $2,000 bond.

Bobbie Sue Flynn, 36, 1006 N. Oak St., was charged with public intoxication 12:46 a.m. Sunday at 619 N. Birch St.

According to a Creston Police report, Flynn was intoxicated in public and walking into the roadway in the 600 block of N. Birch St. Flynn was also involved in an altercation with a resident in the area. Flynn admitted to drinking alcoholic beverages and had an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her person.

Flynn was released on a promise to appear.

Dwayne Price of Afton reported several plumbing tools, mudding tools, painting supplies and cans of paint were taken from a job site between 1 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. Friday at 601 N. Walnut St.

Estimated loss was $600.

Mark O’Riley, 1350 130th St., reported four 100-foot extension cords, six 50-foot extension cords and one 25-foot extension cord were taken from his property at 100 Industrial Parkway between 7 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday.

Estimated loss was $350.
