Five minutes with Jessica Harris at Crossfit

NAME: Jessica Harris

HOMETOWN: Creston

FAMILY: My kids are Heston Harris, who's three, and Vivienne Harris, who's one. And they're my whole life.

HOW DID YOU GET INTO FITNESS? It started at the Y seven years ago — I got a job there teaching circuit classes. And then two years ago I started CrossFit.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE THE MOST ABOUT CROSSFIT? I like the variety. I like the friendly competitiveness — it drives you to keep coming back and getting better. It's addicting! I love it.

WHO CAN DO CROSSFIT? Well I was pregnant for my first nine months of doing it. So it's safe for everyone to do. You just have to modify the movements or the weight.

WHAT MAKES CROSSFIT DIFFERENT? Just the people. You're always here cheering for each other. This doesn't happen in many sports, but the last people doing the workout get the loudest and the most cheers. And I just think that's amazing — I don't see that anywhere else.
