Temperatures are dropping. Along with that drop, comes a drop in attendance at church. It is strange it is seldom so cold outside that shopping malls lose customers, especially during the holidays. Football and basketball games are not lacking in attendance even though the thermometer drops precariously close to zero or below. Make a special effort to see that cold weather doesn’t keep you from worship or Bible study.
Those who make touchdowns need others to block would be tacklers. In the Lord’s church, those who teach the word need others to pave the way. How about setting up a Bible study with some of your friends in your home. Pave the way by inviting a teacher to come and conduct a study.
Where are you?
Assembling for worship and Bible study is the duty of every Christian. That means Sunday, both morning and evening, Wednesday evening and Gospel meetings. Where will you be during a meeting, Bible classes or worship? Do you believe it pleases the Lord when you are elsewhere when the saints assemble? What do you think is more important?
Study the Word
Study is essential in all education endeavors. Employers come nearer to hiring one who has diligently studied a given trade of vocation than one who has not. God uses those who have a good working knowledge of His word.
Pulled the rug from under anyone lately?
It is sinful for a brother to cause another to fall. “Be careful, however, that the exercise of your freedom does not become a stumbling block to the weak.” (1 Cor. 8:9)
