Young announces open office hours in Fontanelle

DES MOINES – Iowa Congressman David Young continues his schedule of hosting open meeting events with his constituents with an additional open office hours events in November.

Open office hours are a resource for Iowans who reside in the Third Congressional District to meet one-on-one with the congressman to discuss opinions, concerns and ideas about the issues being discussed in Congress or to get casework assistance with problems they may be having with a federal agency or program.

“Being an elected official is about accessibility, listening and acting in the best interest of the people you are honored to represent,” Young said. “Over the past three years, I have had the honor of hosting hundreds of meetings with thousands of Iowans. These open office hours serve as an additional resource for my bosses who want to petition their government, or seek assistance with government red tape, in person.”

Young will hold hours from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at Fontanelle Community Center, 318 Washington St., in Fontanelle. Residents of Iowa's Third District who are interested in meeting with Young are encouraged to attend any of the open office hours events. Individual, 10-minute meetings to discuss personal concerns, opinions and possible casework needs will take place with constituents in attendance on a first-come, first-serve basis. Participants must be residents of one of the 16 counties of Iowa's Third Congressional District. To confirm residency within the district, individuals should visit the U.S. House of Representatives "Find my Representative" page located at www.house.gov/representatives/find or contact one of Young's constituent services offices to inquire.

Residents may also sign up to receive notification about future events online at the “public meeting events” tab at Young.House.Gov.

Young travels to each one of the 16 counties that make up the Third Congressional District at least once every month hosting hundreds of meetings with thousands of Iowans each year. The open office hours events will be an additional resource available to Young’s constituents giving them even more opportunities to voice their opinions on the issue impacting Iowa and the nation. The open office hours are held throughout the year in addition to Young’s Coffee with My Congressman town meetings, which are held every year in each of the 16 counties and regular telephone town halls.

Young represents Iowa’s Third Congressional District which is made up of the following 16 counties in Iowa: Adair, Adams, Cass, Dallas, Fremont, Guthrie, Madison, Mills, Montgomery, Page, Polk, Pottawattamie, Ringgold, Taylor, Union and Warren.
