4-H’ers earn service awards

GREENFIELD – President’s Volunteer Service Awards were presented to 35 4-H’ers for their community service work during the past year. The national program encourages youth to give back to their community through volunteer work. Each honoree received a certificate signed by President Donald Trump and a specially designed pin. The local program sponsor is Union State Bank of Greenfield and Bridgewater.

Gold award recipients were Hank Bohling, Storm Hoadley, Jennifer and Jorja Holliday, Paisley Kintigh and Zayden Rawlings, all of Greenfield; Madison Christensen and ShadowMae Doherty, both of Stuart; Terrin Gettler, Carter Goetz, and Brandon Raasch, all of Fontanelle; Brooklyn Sammons of Orient and Madison Suhr of Adair. Youth, 16 years and over, were required to volunteer at least 250 hours to earn the Gold Award, while younger members, ages 11-15, had to log a minimum of 100 hours. Members, 10 years and younger, had to volunteer at least 75 hours.

Silver honorees were Jetta Doherty of Stuart and Belle Fagan of Adair. The silver award is reserved for youth, age 16 and older, who volunteer a minimum of 175 hours; members, ages 11-15 years, who volunteer at least 75 hours; and members, 10 years and younger, who volunteer at least 50 hours.

Bronze awards were presented to Riley Abbott of Dexter; Marissa Christensen and Aiden Hardman, both of Stuart; Delaney Blomme of Bridgewater; Matthew Rudolf-Steele of Casey; Abigail Christensen, Abby Engles, Dax Kintigh, and Skyler Rawlings, all of Greenfield; Sophie Dorsey of Wiota; Ellan Clay, Carley Fagan, Hannah Jorgensen, and Cade, Cash, Creighton, and Trevin Suhr, all of Adair; Halee Wallace of Creston; Levi Gettler of Fontanelle; and Ashlyn Kralik of Orient. Bronze honorees, age 16 years and older, gave a minimum of 100 hours. Members, ages 11-15 years, gave at least 50 hours, and members, 10 years and younger, must have given 26 hours of community service.

Ethan Blomme of Bridgewater; Ellie Brewer and Jill Wallace, both of Greenfield; Alissa Brownlee of Macksburg; Cameron Christensen, Ephraim Doherty, Wyatt Hedges and Rylee Krantz, all of Stuart; Jovie Denney of Dexter; Davin Wallace of Creston; Hope Kading and Charles Rudolf-Steele, both of Casey; Blaize Dorsey of Wiota; and Makinley Edwards of Fontanelle, were presented Adair County Community Service Awards for their volunteer hours given to the community.
