AMES – The Iowa State University College of Human Sciences announces scholarships awarded to freshmen for the 2017-18 academic year.

• Kiara Roberts of Corning received the College of Human Sciences Equity Scholarship

• Morgan Shawler of Creston received the Maxine and Dennis Brown Scholarship

Sarah Waigand of Afton has received the Ana and Ed McCracken Scholarship and the Ana Hays McCracken Fashion Show Producers Scholarship from the Iowa State University department of apparel, events and hospitality management for the 2017-18 academic year. Waigand is studying apparel, merchandising and design at ISU.

The ISU College of Human Sciences and its academic departments, which includes the department of apparel, events and hospitality management, awarded more than $1.3 million in student scholarships and awards for this academic year.

Drake University

DES MOINES – The following local students graduated from Drake University at the end of the summer 2017 semester.

• Jordan Foote of Afton – Bachelor of Science in business administration, marketing

• Gentri Meier of Greenfield – Master of Science, counseling
