Kyle Duane Hoadley, 28, 404 N. Cherry St., was charged with fifth-degree theft 9:50 p.m. Thursday at the Law Enforcement Center.
According to a Creston Police report, Hoadley entered a Casey’s General Store and took and concealed eight packs of Magic collector cards. He then left the store without paying for them. Hoadley admitted to stealing the cards.
Hoadley was released on a promise to appear.

Brandon Barrett, 20, 612 N. Birch St., was charged on a Union County warrant for violation of pretrial release on the original charge of controlled substance violation.
According to a Creston Police report, on June 13 Barrett was stopped for failure to stop at a traffic control light while riding a bicycle. During the stop a bag containing a green leafy substance with marijuana was discovered.
Barrett was being held without bond.

Tyrone Davis, 48, 607 W. Prairie St., was charged with second-offense operating while intoxicated 2:30 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of West Adams and North Sycamore streets.
According to a Creston Police report, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for careless driving after the driver did a burn out in the 100 block of North Elm Street. The driver was identified as Davis. Davis had an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person. Davis consented to standard field sobriety testing which showed several signs of impairment. Davis refused a preliminary breath test. Davis later consented to a Data Master breath specimen in which he provided a sample of .145 blood-alcohol content. Davis had one prior conviction for OWI and was charged with second-offense OWI.
Davis was released on $2,000 bond.

Christy Grandfield of Afton reported a tailgate was taken off a 1973 Jeep J20 between 5:45 and 6:35 p.m. Friday while it was parked across from A&G Restaurant and Lounge on West Adams Street.
Estimated loss was $500.
