Adair County 4-H’er earns honors at State Fair 4-H horse show

GREENFIELD – Kamryn Nourse, Adair County 4-H’er and member of Jefferson Pioneers 4-H club, gave an excellent showing at the Iowa State Fair 4-H horse show.

Nourse, daughter of Ryan and Tina Nourse of Dexter, earned the reserve champion junior western walk and trot title, stood first, received a purple ribbon and was chosen champion western horsemanship. She received a blue ribbon in horse showmanship and a red ribbon in western pleasure. Nourse was competing in classes for grade 6 exhibitors.

She also earned a blue ribbon in her class for halter mares (8 years and over).

Adair County is now accepting enrollments for the 2017-18 project year. All area youth in the fourth through 12th grades can enroll. In addition to livestock and animal projects, 4-H offers opportunities in areas such as photography, foods, woodworking and leadership.
