An extraordinary thing happened one day last week. While sitting in my favorite chair one morning, in the front window of my house on Townline St., I chanced to look up and noticed a lot of traffic lined up. There were tree limbs lying in the road in the way of traffic. Three young men jumped out of their vehicle and removed the limbs to the side of the road, got back into their vehicle and out of the way of all the backed up traffic.
“How nice,” I thought.
Somebody had lost their load on the way to the compost site and these boys have removed the traffic blockage. I had hardly gotten back to my whatever I was doing, when they were back. The limbs were re-loaded, right down to the little sticks, the area cleaned up and they were on their way.
That speaks highly of our citizenry, be they young, old or somewhere in between.
We’ve got a lot going for us in Creston, and that little incident just proves it.
