Wade J. Geary, 51, of Adair died July 24, 2017, at his home in Adair.

Celebration of life services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at Powers Funeral Home, junction of highways 34 and 25, Creston. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Creston. The Rev. Mary O'Riley will officiate. Open visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday, with family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Powers Funeral Home. Wade Jay Geary, son of Virgil J. Geary and Suzan Jane Knighton, was born September 25, 1965 in Commerce, California.

He attended Arlington High School in Riverside, California.

In 1989, Wade moved to Des Moines with Mary Richards. On April 27, 1991, they were married in Creston, then moved to Creston in 1994. They had three children, Taylor, Madison and Garret. In 1995, he started work at Wellman’s in the saw room and then was promoted to supervisor in 2000. Wade and Mary later divorced.

In 2007, Wade married Melissa Ross in Creston and they moved to Indiana. He returned to Iowa in 2008. They later divorced. Wade moved to Adair in 2008 where he worked construction.

Wade is survived by his mother, Suzan Knighton, of Jonesville, Michigan; step-mother, Rosalee Geary, of Weldon; two daughters, Taylor Geary of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Madison Geary of Dallas, Texas; one son, Garret Geary, of Ames; one granddaughter, Alexis Moeller; two sisters, Sahrina Geary of Creston and Star Knighton of Corning; four brothers, Virgil (wife Kasey) Geary of Aransas Pass, Texas, Alan Geary of San Manuel, Arizona, Toby (wife Erin) Knighton of Dallas and Jeff; a niece, Brandy Geary; three nephews, Jacek Holmes, Virgil Geary and Richard Geary and numerous other family members.

Wade was preceded in death by his father, Virgil; uncle, Larry (wife Karen) Geary; aunt, Beverly Stalford and grandparents, Dudley and Norma Johnson and Jess and Mabel Geary.
