Donna Schrodt

Donna Elaine Schrodt of Winterset passed away at home on Aug. 2, 2017, at 7:37 p.m.

A visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, at Ochiltree Funeral Service, 1823 N. John Wayne Drive, in Winterset with family present to receive friends during this time. A funeral service will follow the visitation beginning at 4 p.m. Burial will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, in Ellston Cemetery in Ringgold County. Donna was born on Dec. 11, 1944, to Christian O. and Wanda Pauline (Johnston) Walters. She was raised on the family farm west of Beaconsfield. She graduated from Mount Ayr Community School in 1963 and enjoyed a career in medical health information for more than 40 years. She was baptized at Beaconsfield Methodist Church as a teenager.

In 1963, she married David Schrodt and they had two children, Michelle Robin and Andrew David.

Donna enjoyed her four grandchildren and attending all of their activities. Her hobbies included counted cross-stitch, reading and raising daylilies and irises. She volunteered at Living History Farms, Brookview Elementary School and Madison County Healthcare System.

Preceding Donna in death were her parents; her daughter, Michelle; and two sisters, Cela Rauch and Anna Sue Walters.

Donna is survived by her husband, David Schrodt of Winterset; son, Andrew (Sara) Schrodt of Winterset; grandchildren, Rebecca (Andrew) Rushenberg, Gracen Elizabeth, Samuel Andrew and Chloe Marie; siblings, Rex (Ann) Walters of Beaconsfield, Lyle (Barbara) Walters of Apache Junction, Arizona, Beth (Keith) Whitson of Beaconsfield and Dale (Doris) Walters of Mount Ayr; brother-in-law, Leslie Rauch of Denison; and extended family and friends.
