Michael Lynn Huddleson, 37, of Fontanelle was charged with driving while license is denied or revoked 8:15 p.m. July 24 in Adair County.

Huddleson was released on his own recognizance.

Russell Wayne Cowling, 65, of Orient was charged with first-degree harassment 9:50 p.m. July 24 in Adair County.

Cowling was cited and released.

Alaina Noel Goddard, 23, of Des Moines was charged with second-offense operating while intoxicated, using electronic communications while driving, driving while under suspension, failure to maintain control and failure to provide proof of financial liability 12:38 p.m. Friday in Adair County.

According to an Adair County Sheriff report, at 10:17 a.m., an accident occurred near the 84-mile marker westbound on Interstate 80. Goddard was found walking away from the scene. When speaking to Goddard, she was unable to sit still, was speaking rather fast and had restricted pupils. Goddard believed she was on the south side of Des Moines and said the accident occurred because she was on her phone. Goddard consented to standardized field sobriety tests. Goddard was unable to keep her head still during the horizontal gaze nystagmus test. Goddard failed all other field sobriety tests. Goddard blew 0.000 blood-alcohol content on the preliminary breath test. Goddard refused to give a breath sample on the DataMaster and refused to give a urine sample to test for narcotics.The first OWI occurred in 2015 in Polk County.

Goddard was being held on $2,000 bond.

James Michael Norris, 26, of Kent was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana 9 p.m. Saturday in Adair County.

According to an Adair County Sheriff report, officers conducted a traffic stop on a red Ford Focus with Iowa license plates. The vehicle was stopped for excessive speed in the 3100 block of Henry A. Wallace Road. When officers approached the vehicle, they could smell the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Officers asked the driver, Norris, to exit the vehicle.

Norris admitted to officers there was a pipe and small container with marijuana underneath the driver’s seat. A pipe and container with green leafy substance inside were taken as evidence from the vehicle. Norris was charged and transported to Adair County Jail.

Norris was released on $1,000 bond.
