Gary Eugene Edwards, 52, of Lorimor was charged on a Union County warrant for domestic abuse assault 12:30 a.m. Sunday at the Law Enforcement Center.
According to a Union County Sheriff report, on July 10 at approximately 2:41 a.m., Edwards entered a residence in Lorimor. Edwards had been staying there with the victim for the last two months. The victim had been Edwards’ girlfriend. While in the residence, Edwards knocked a phone out of the victims hand. Edwards then shoved the victim onto a bed and pinned her down. Edwards slapped the victim and then hit the victim with a closed fist in the face. The victim also had scratch marks on the torso.
Edwards was being held on no bond until seen by a judge.
