Accidents

No citations were issued after an accident 1:15 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Highway 34 and Kingfisher Avenue east of Creston.

According to a Union County Sheriff report, Kaitlin Arlene Dorsey, 26, of Corning was driving a 2003 Nissan west on Highway 34 when she grew sleepy and did not realize the 1995 GMC, driven by Donna Marie Smith, 70, of Creston, in front of her was slowing to turn north off of Highway 34 onto Kingfisher Avenue. Dorsey said she dozed off and then struck Smith’s vehicle in the rear.

Damage estimates are $1,500 to Dorsey’s vehicle and $1,000 to Smith’s vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 8:21 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Dodge and Railroad streets in Afton.

According to a Union County Sheriff report, Brenda Lynn Davis, 38, of Afton was driving a 2007 Kia eastbound on Railroad Street when she failed to yield the right of way and struck the rear passenger’s side of a 2016 Ram driven southbound on Dodge Street by Brett Lee Weis, 44, of Afton.

Damage estimates are $6,000 to Davis’s vehicle and $2,500 to Weis’s.
