Karen Brodsack, 46, 402 N. Division St., was charged with third-degree theft 7:10 p.m. Friday at Wal-Mart.

According to a Creston Police report, officers were dispatched to Wal-Mart for a person trespassing after being served notice. Upon arrival, officers made contact with Brodsack and advised her she would be cited for violating the trespass warning. Management advised officers that she had several items in her cart when observed earlier that were no longer present. Brodsack was asked if she had anything on her person that she did not pay for. She originally stated that she had nothing on her. After visiting with her about what was observed by store management, she stated she had items in her purse. Those items totaled to the amount of $59.40. Brodsack was charged for third-degree theft due to having two or more prior theft charges. She was also cited for trespass on Wal-Mart property.

Brodsack was released on $2,000 bond.

Julian Allison, 29, 306 N. Elm St., was charged on a Union County warrant for violation of probation on an original charge of controlled substance violation 10:10 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of North Oak and West Montgomery streets.

Allison was being held on $10,000 bond.

Donald Gay, 40, 305 N. Oak St., was charged with second-offense public intoxication 3:30 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of North Pine and East Montgomery streets.

According to a Creston Police report, Gay was seen staggering and falling down in the area of Pine and Montgomery street. Gay was staggering and officers could smell a very strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. Gay’s speech was very slurred and he could hardly stand up without help. Gay consented to a data master test and he had a blood-alcohol content of .226. Gay had been warned about being drunk in public twice in the recent past. Gay had been convicted of a prior count of public intoxication.

Gay was released on $1,000 bond.

Richard Eagan, 38, 509 W. Howard St., was charged on a Union County warrant for third-degree theft 11:59 a.m. Sunday at 404 N. Cedar St.

According to a Creston Police report, Wal-Mart staff provided evidence of Eagan entering the store on several different occasions from March 12 through May 14, obtaining items, then leaving the store without paying for those items. Wal-Mart theft prevention added the items up to be approximately $760.34. Eagan was charged with third-degree theft.

Eagan was released on $2,000 bond.

Dakota Earley, 306 S. Pine St., reported her white iPhone 5C was taken between June 1 and July 14 from an unknown location.

Loss estimate is $250.

Casey Koenen, 424 New York Ave., reported a Sentry Safe containing cash was taken between 10:30 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30 a.m. Thursday from his residence.
