Russ Reasland, 78, of Creston died Sunday, July 16, 2017, at Greater Regional Medical Center in Creston.

Celebration of life services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 20, at Powers Funeral Home, junction of highways 34 and 25, in Creston. The Rev. Delores Doench will officiate the service. The family requests causal dress. Burial will be in Summit Cemetery in rural Cromwell. Open visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are to be determined. Russell “Russ” Raymond Reasland, son of Mildred (Hogenkamp) and Robert Reasland, was born Nov. 8, 1938, in Adams County. He was educated in Creston Community Schools and graduated from Creston High School with the class of 1956. Following graduation, Russ joined the United States Army and was a reservist for six years.

On June 13, 1965, Russ married Margie L. Hoadley at the Methodist Church in Greenfield. Russ was an electrician, working for and running Lines Electric, and then worked at Wellman’s in Creston. He also farmed on the side and most recently, farmed with his son Scott.

Russ was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Creston and, for many years, was active with White Tails Unlimited.

Russ is survived by his wife Margie of Creston; son Scott of Lenox; daughter Laura (Marv) Palmer of Creston; daughter-in-law Tabitha Reasland of Creston; grandchildren, Taylor Suiter, Sydney Suiter and Carter Reasland; brother Glenn Reasland of Mountain Home, Arkansas, and sister Bonnie Hodge of Creston.

Russ was preceded in death by his parents; son Eric Reasland; sisters, Mary Ford and Hazel Martin and a brother in infancy.
