The Union County Fair runs July 20-26. Check-in time for the floriculture division is from 8 to 11 a.m. Friday, July 21. Entry fees are 50 cents per entry. Judging begins at 1 p.m. Friday with Sandy Gossman. Displays will be released from 8 to 11 a.m. Wednesday.
A new category called Adult and Youth Community Garden Exhibits has been added for youth and adults. This category is not listed in the fair book, but will be accepted at registration.
Anyone who gardens as a group, such as churches, schools, nursing homes, YMCA or civic groups, this category is for them. Youth groups use division VI design and adults use any division in floriculture.
Fair books may be picked up at the extension office or viewed at www.unioncountyfairiowa.com. Adults and young people are encouraged to enter in the many different divisions and classes.
