LEON — Kashdon Rattray, the 4-month-old son of Joshua Rattray and Kelcey Hepner, was pronounced dead Thursday in Leon.
According to the Decatur County Attorney’s office, at approximately 1 a.m. Thursday, authorities responded to a 911 call of an infant not breathing at an apartment in Valley View in Leon.
Responders found Rattray unresponsive, and despite efforts to resuscitate, he was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy is pending.
The matter is under investigation by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the Leon Police Department.
