Lela Churchwell, 38, 1501 N. Lincoln St., was charged with simple assault 9 p.m. Monday at her residence.

According to a Creston Police report, officers were dispatched at approximately 9 p.m. Monday to an altercation that took place at 1501 N. Lincoln St. Officers learned that Churchwell, who was intoxicated, had shoved a male victim down part of a staircase during a disagreement. The victim sustained minor abrasions.

Churchwell was released from Ringgold County Jail on a promise to appear.

Johnny Agans, 47, 1503 N. Lincoln St., was charged with public intoxication 9 p.m. Monday at his residence.

According to a Creston Police report, Agans was drunk in public while in the parking lot of 1503 N. Lincoln St. Agans was then asked to leave the residence where he was staying due to a domestic situation, and was warned to not be out in public where he was noticeably intoxicated. Agans ignored the warning, and shortly after was found back outside and then charged. Agans consented to sobriety tests and was found to have a blood-alcohol level of above .08. While officers spoke to Agans, it was determined that there was a physical confrontation between Agans and a female that same night.

Agans was released on a promise to appear.

Zachary Utterback, 24, of Greenfield was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia 12:44 a.m. today at 402 N. Cherry St.

According to a Creston Police report, officers were called to a fight that took place. While officers were speaking with a resident of the home, they found a marijuana pipe near Utterback’s belongings. Other residents of the home confirmed it belonged to Utterback. Officers then spoke to Utterback, who admitted the pipe was his and he then surrendered what was left of his marijuana.

Utterback was being held on $300 bond.

Troy Clausen, 23, of Greenfield, was charged with operating while intoxicated 2 a.m. today at the intersection of South Sumner Avenue and Sheldon Street.

According to a Creston Police report, Clausen was in operation of a motor vehicle when he failed to maintain control and hit a curb, going over the curb. Clausen was then stopped by officers, at which point officers noticed an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person and observable impairment. Clausen refused a preliminary breath test, and was then taken into custody. At the Law Enforcement Center, Clausen consented to a breath specimen, providing a sample of .132 blood-alcohol content.

Clausen was being held on $1,000 bond.
