DES MOINES – “Nothing Compares” to affordable family entertainment at the Iowa State Fair, Aug. 10- 20. For fairgoers planning ahead, the Iowa State Fair ticket office is now open and is offering discounted tickets for admission, rides and more.
The Iowa State Fair ticket office, located in the administration building on the fairgrounds, is open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. Walk-up orders will be available through Aug. 9. Cash, check, money order, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express are accepted. All offers good while supplies last.
Advance admission
Adult and children's advance admission tickets are available at the ticket office and online at www.iowastatefair.org as a print-your-own, fee-free option or can be mailed, processing fee applies.
• Adult advance admission tickets are $8 for ages 12 and older or $12 at the gate
• Children’s admission tickets are $4 for ages 6-11 or $6 at the gate
• Children ages 5 and under are admitted free every day
Tickets may also be purchased at participating Fareway, Hy-Vee, Hy-Vee Drug, Price Chopper and Cash Saver stores while supplies last. Orders will not be mailed after July 28 but will be available for print-at-home. Tickets are good any one fair day.
Family Fun Pack
The Family Fun Pack is perfect for employee incentives or fair-loving families. This value-packed deal includes specials on select rides and food. Family Fun Packs are available for purchase now at the ticket office or online, processing fee applies. Fair admission must be purchased separately. Must be purchased by Aug. 9 or while supplies last.
Thrill Parks savings
In 2017, the super spectacular ride areas on the fairgrounds have received facelifts, but the most exciting part is they now offer wristbands instead of tickets. Purchase your advanced wristband voucher for Thrill Ville and Thrill Town online or at the ticket office through Aug. 9. Vouchers are redeemable at the fair.
Food tickets
Food tickets are no longer available for purchase online; however, they are still available for purchase at the ticket office through Aug. 9, while supplies last, and during the fair at the Iowa State Fair Grandstand.
