Grand View University

DES MOINES – Recognition for outstanding academic achievement has been given to the following Grand View University students for the 2017 spring semester.

Alli Thomsen of Creston was named to the president’s list for earning a GPA of 4.0 while carrying at least 12 hours of classes.

McKenzie Jackson of Bedford and Callie Calfee of Gravity were named to the dean’s list for earning a GPA of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale while carrying at least 12 hours of classes.

Grand View University, with an enrollment of approximately 2,000 students, is an independent, liberal arts university affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

Iowa Lakes Community College

ESTHERVILLE – Valerie Newhouse, President of Iowa Lakes Community College, has released the spring honors list of full-time students (12 credits or more) who have demonstrated academic excellence by earning a GPA of 3.25 (based on a 4.0) or higher.

Spring semester student Colton Garside of Greenfield achieved a 3.25 grade point average or better and was recognized on the dean’s list.

Iowa Lakes Community College, with accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission, Iowa Department of Education and Veterans Administration, has campuses in Algona, Emmetsburg, Estherville, Spencer and Spirit Lake. Students attending the college have a wide choice of programs including the first two years of a baccalaureate degree. Upper Iowa University

FAYETTE – Chelsey Anderson, a health services administration major from Adair, has been named to Upper Iowa University’s (UIU) 2017 spring dean’s list. To be honored, the undergraduate must have earned a minimum 3.5 GPA for the semester and be enrolled as a full-time student.

AMES – The Iowa State University College of Liberal Arts and Sciences’ dean’s list honors students who were enrolled in 12 credit hours and earned a 3.5 GPA for the term.

AMES – Sixty-six incoming first-year College of Human Sciences students participated in orientation June 21-22 at Iowa State University. As part of the program, students and their families met peers, signed up for classes, became familiar with the campus and learned tips for making the most of their college careers.

Chloe Keefe of Corning registered in apparel, merchandising and design.

The College of Human Sciences prepares students for lifelong endeavors in the areas of health and wellness, education and human development, science and technology in the human environment and community and entrepreurship.

Iowa Western Community College

COUNCIL BLUFFS  – Iowa Western Community College officials announced that approximately 520 students have been named to the president’s honor roll due to their academic achievement during the 2017 spring term. Students named to the president’s honor roll must be carrying at least 12 academic credit hours and attain a GPA of at least 3.5 on a scale of 4.0.
