Steven Lamar, 33, of Creston was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of assault on persons engaged in certain occupation, interference with official acts and possession of stolen property 1:24 p.m. May 25 on Quince Avenue.

According to an Adams County Sheriff report, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a red Buick because it was not displaying license plates. The vehicle failed to stop and proceeded westbound on highway 34 from the Redwood Avenue intersection at 96 miles per hour. The vehicle turned southbound on Quince Avenue and quickly pulled into a driveway. Lamar, the driver, jumped out of the vehicle and became very hostile. Deputies attempted to take Lamar into custody, but Lamar resisted. Lamar was eventually taken into custody and charged. Deputies discovered the vehicle was stolen from Creston and was later returned to its owner.

The case remains under investigation.

Shawn Dale Kammerer, 44, of Nodaway was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, second offense domestic abuse and unlawful possession of prescription drugs 1:20 a.m. Saturday.

According to an Adams County Sheriff report, deputies were dispatched to a disturbance in Nodaway. Upon further investigation, Kammerer was charged.

Kammerer was being held without bond until seen by the magistrate.
