Fifty alumni and guests attended the 107th Shannon City alumni banquet held Saturday, May 27, at the Eagles Club in Creston. Co-chairwomen were Bonnie Ergenbright Baker (1959), Linda Foy James (1960) of Creston and Ann Comer Sanson (1959) of Clarinda. Registration started at 3 p.m. with supper held at 5 p.m. James welcomed everyone with Ron Sanson of Clarinda giving the invocation.
Ann Sanson served as the MC for the evening, thanking everyone for attending the evening.
Jack Hoffman of Shannon City was the only one from the class of 1947 attending. Five graduates from the class of 1952 attending were Bob Arnold of Shannon City, Earl Berdine of Omaha, Nebraska, John Land of Afton, Dick Ross of Creston and Elma Short Stickel of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Two from the class of 1957 attending were Jerry Hoffman of Urbandale and Lucille Woldruff Jones of Afton.
Baker, James and Sanson were voted to be in charge of the 108th banquet planned for Saturday, May 26, 2018, at the Eagles Club.
