Richie Lee to perform at Opry Show

CORNING – 50s-style sock hop with Richie Lee, guest performer at the Opry Show, will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 21, at the Corning Opera House Cultural Center.

Richie Lee was inducted into the Iowa Rock ‘n’ Roll Music Association’s Hall of Fame in 2010. At the age of 7, he won a Buddy Holly look-a-like and lip sync contest in Des Moines sponsored by KJJY radio. That was the beginning of Richie’s dream to be a performer. In 2003, at the age of 13 he released his first CD, and since then, his band “Richie Lee and the Fabulous 50s” has toured the Midwest and beyond. Richie plays tribute to Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens, Elvis Presley, Eddie Cochran, Ricky Nelson, Roy Orbison, Chuck Berry and Dion Dimucci.

The monthly opry shows cost $8 per person or $15 per couple, with pay at the door only. Free parking is located on the street and the handicap entrance is on the west side of the building, 800 Davis Ave., with elevator access to the auditorium.
