The Ringgold County Conservation Board and Ringgold Conservation Foundation are hosting the Prairie Chicken Warrior Run 4 p.m. June 10 at Fogle Lake in Diagonal.
Participants will meet at the archery trail shelter at the entrance to Fogle Lake, and run, walk, skip or crawl their way to the finish line.
There will be a 1 mile kid’s run with an obstacle course for children 10 years old and under with an entry fee of $10. The Warrior Run will have six different obstacles for participants to complete along a two-mile route. The Warrior Run will have a first-place prize for the top male, top female and top student (11-18 years). Entry fee for the Warrior Run is $20.
New this year is a kid’s fun fish at 1 p.m. Meet at the lake shelter house. Poles and bait will be provided for the kids to use.
Participants must pre-register with the Ringgold County Conservation Board at 641-464-2787 or email RinggoldCCB@ringgoldcounty.us by 4 p.m. Friday, May 26, to receive a T-shirt. A few select shirts will be available for same-day registration with no guarantee on size availability.
All proceeds will go towards the Dragoon Trace Nature Center project for environmental education.
