Hood next superintendent for Sidney, South Page

SIDNEY — Sidney and South Page school boards unanimously approved Tim Hood as their next shared superintendent in a meeting held late Tuesday night.

According to the Clarinda Herald-Journal, Hood was offered a two-year contract at $155,000 a year and will begin duties for the southwest Iowa districts on July 1. He is currently superintendent of Keokuk schools in southeast Iowa.

Hood was superintendent of Creston Community Schools from 2000 to 2012. His tenure included construction of a new 145,000 square-feet elementary and middle school building.

Hood has been in education for 30 years, beginning with teaching positions at the Southern Cal district in Lake City and Lewis Central in Council Bluffs from 1987 to 1993.

Hood’s administrative career includes elementary assistant principal in Lewis Central; elementary principal and assistant superintendent in the Putnam County school district in Unionville, Missouri; and superintendent in Earlham beginning in 1996 before he was hired for the same position in Creston in 2000.

Hood succeeds Gregg Cruichshank, who announced his resignation as shared superintendent for Sidney and South Page earlier this year to accept the same position in Homer, Nebraska.
