Cam C. Jahnke, 27, of Council Bluffs was charged with driving under suspension 7:41 p.m. April 17 in Adair County.

Jahnke was cited and released.

Dominique Lawren Peterson, 21, of Sioux City was charged on an Adair County warrant for violation of probation midnight April 18 in Adair County.

Peterson was being held on $10,000 bond.

James Leslie Smith Jr., 22, of Stuart was charged with driving under suspension 8:45 p.m. April 18 in Adair County.

Smith was released on $300 bond.

Devon Xavier Skerritt, 21, and Rashaad Markel Jones, 26, both of Rochester, New York, were each charged with possession with intent to deliver, and Darnell Jerome Sanders, 24, also of Rochester, New York, was charged with possession of a controlled substance 2:33 p.m. April 19 in Adair County.

According to an Adair County Sheriff report, officers clocked a silver Ford Explorer at 97 miles per hour in a 70 mph zone. The driver was later identified as Sanders. Upon stopping, the occupants of the vehicle began jumping around and changing seats. Once all three occupants were detained, officers could smell and see marijuana from outside the vehicle.

While performing a search, officers found in the glove box $6,000 in cash with the intent to be used to buy marijuana, plastic bags used to package marijuana, and marijuana. Skerritt told officers the items belonged to him. In the rear of the vehicle, officers found a black backpack that had $2,000 cash in it, one large bag that once held a large amount of marijuana and a small bag of marijuana. Officers also found $1,000 in cash in another bag belonging to Jones.

All three occupants admitted they were on their way to Colorado for April 20. They said they had smoked all their marijuana on the drive. When asked if they were going to travel back with marijuana, they said no. Officers then asked why they were traveling with it now, and Skerritt said they aren’t going to travel with it to sell. Sanders also told officers that while being pulled over he was smoking marijuana.

Skerritt and Jones were each released on $5,000 bond and Sanders was released on $1,000 bond.

Daniel Fritz Reeves, 30, of Sioux City, was charged on an Adair County warrant for violation of probation 11:31 p.m. April 19 in Adair County.

Reeves was being held on $10,000 bond.

Michael Kurt Fahrney, 32, of West Des Moines was charged with trespassing, fourth-degree theft, possession of a controlled substance, fraudulent use of registration, no insurance, operating without registration and driving under suspension 12:08 p.m. Saturday in Adair County.

According to an Adair County Sheriff report, Fahrney returned to a walnut tree previously cut down by a friend of Fahrney’s on the property of Allen Steward of Bridgewater. The friend had no right, privilege or authority to cut the tree down from the property. Fahrney and two partners intended to remove the tree from the property and sell it for money. He committed theft of property from Steward, the value of which exceeds $200 but not $500.

Fahrney was being held on $5,000 bond.

Matthew Ryan Johnson, 27, of Fontanelle was charged with fourth-degree theft and trespassing 1:23 p.m. Saturday in Adair County.

According to an Adair County Sheriff report, Johnson removed a walnut tree from the property of Allen Steward of Bridgewater with intentions of selling it to permanently deprive Steward of the log for a monetary gain by Johnson. Johnson entered into a verbal agreement with another subject to share the profit from the sold tree in trade for assistance. Johnson and the second subject had second thoughts about the theft and decided to leave the property in the road.

Johnson was released on $1,000 bond.

Will Austin Moore, 24, of Belle, Missouri, was charged with operating while intoxicated, open container and failure to maintain control 2:26 p.m. April 22 in Adair County.

According to an Adair County Sheriff report, Moore had crashed his vehicle for unknown reasons on Interstate 80 near the 90 mile marker westbound. A passerby witnessed the accident and pulled over. The passerby observed open containers and Moore stumbling. The passerby kept Moore from getting back in the vehicle until law enforcement arrived.

Moore admitted to drinking five beers within the prior hour. Moore consented to field sobriety tests and failed all three tests given. Moore consented to preliminary breath testing with a sample above the legal limit. Moore was charged and consented to implied consent, giving a breath alcohol sample of .212 blood-alcohol content.

Moore was released on $1,000 bond.
