Adams County Sheriff

Kalyn Denise Smith, 19, of Massena was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia 9:38 p.m. April 15 in Adams County.

According to an Adams County Sheriff report, sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle operated by Smith. Upon further investigation, Smith was charged.

Smith was being held on $300 bond.

James Robert Brown, 62, of Corning was charged with possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia 7:46 p.m. April 16 in Adams County.

According to an Adams County Sheriff report, sheriff’s deputies arrived at Brown’s residence to speak to him about a trespassing complaint. While speaking outside Brown’s residence, deputies detected the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the residence. A consent search of the residence was conducted. Numerous smoking devices were located. Deputies also located marijuana, a marijuana grinder and rolling papers.

Brown was being held on $1,300 bond.

Mandi Lee Calkins, 41, of Corning was charged with operating while intoxicated, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia and Ann Marie Hinton, 36, of Corning was charged with second-offense possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia 12:47 a.m. Saturday in Adams County.

According to an Adams County Sheriff report, sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle operated by Calkins. Calkins failed standard field sobriety testing and was charged. A passenger in the vehicle, Hinton, was also charged.

Calkins and Hinton were each held on $2,300 bond.

Mary Louise Novy, 62, of Greenfield was charged with operating while intoxicated 9:46 p.m. Saturday in Adams County.

According to an Adams County Sheriff report, sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of 15th and John streets in Corning. The driver of the vehicle, Novy, failed standard field sobriety testing. Novy was charged. Deputies located an open beer in the center console of Novy’s vehicle and she was also cited for open container.

Novy was being held on $1,300 bond.

Noah Wardlow, 18, of Corning was charged with criminal mischief, a class D felony, operating while intoxicated, reckless driving and failure to maintain control 8 a.m. Sunday in Adams County.

Wardlow was being held on $6,300 bond.
