Family Fun Night

The third Friday of every month is Family Fun Night at the Y. On April 21, it’s Nerf Wars. Open swim is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the pool. Then bring out the Nerf guns for a fun Nerf War in the gym. Test your skills and play against your friends. Open to all ages. Bring your own Nerf guns, darts and bullets. Only bullets composed of foam or a similar soft material are permitted. The Y is not responsible for lost or damaged Nerf guns or ammo. It will be wise to identify what you bring with tape or a marker. The Y will provide cardboard boxes and tape for kids and families to create forts and shields. Family Fun Night is free for members and day pass rates for non-members.

Healthy Kids Day

Healthy Kids Day is coming from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 29, to the YMCA. Healthy Kids Day is the Y’s national initiative to improve health and well-being for kids and families. The local event features an inflatable obstacle course, scavenger hunt, bubble balls, Major League baseball pitch, hit and run competition, healthy snacks and a bike rodeo with free helmets for the first 25 kids. Healthy Kids Day is a free day for everyone. In the afternoon, there will be free open swim from 1 to 3 p.m. Area businesses and organizations are welcome to set up a table with an activity and information for children and families.
