Bonnie Roe Ridgley 88, of Lenox died Saturday, March 25, 2017, at home.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at the Lenox Community Center. Part of her ashes will be buried under a tree that will be planted in her honor over Memorial Day weekend. The other part of her ashes will receive the same treatment in Miami, Florida, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to an animal care or animal protection charity of one’s choice. Online condolences may be left at www.ritchiefuneralhome.com. Arrangements were entrusted to Ritchie Funeral Home, 124 S. Main St., in Lenox

Bonnie, daughter of Jesse Oscar Roe and Mary Cipra Roe, was born March 7, 1929, in Lenox. Bonnie graduated from Lenox Community High School in 1947. She continued her education at American Institute of Business in Des Moines, and went on to work for Iowa Girls’ Athletic Association.

While in Des Moines, Bonnie married Herb Benjamin Ridgley and they moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, soon afterwards. They moved to Miami, Florida, in 1957. Bonnie worked as a secretary at Riddle Airlines in Miami Springs, Florida, and helped Herb during the startup of his manufacturing company, Miami Door. In 1964, they moved from Miami Springs to the Kendall area of Miami, Florida. Bonnie became a directory-assistance operator with AT&T, where she worked for 20 years until her retirement. After Herb passed away in December 2000, Bonnie remained in Miami until May 2015, when she returned to Lenox.

Bonnie is survived by her sister Dorie Roe Key; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Martha Ridgley and granddaughter IJfke Ridgley.
