4-H Spotlight

Name: Cali Foglesong

Club: Sandcreek Pioneers

School and grade: Creston Community High School, 12th grade

What has been the highlight of your 4-H career so far?

The highlight of my 4-H career so far has to be meeting all the new people. Especially at the state fair, I really enjoy getting to know the people there and learning more about their animals and what they do with them. Also, everyone up there is willing to jump in and help out even if you have no clue who they are.

Share one skill, experience or opportunity from 4-H that you will take with you after high school graduation?

When I think of an experience that I will take with me after high school graduation, I think of the time when my photo was selected to go to state. I remember the feeling I got when I found out that it was going, being proud of what I had done and the moment I captured within it.

What piece of advice would you give to a younger 4-H’er?

One piece of advice I would give a younger 4-H’er is to not be afraid to ask questions. I say this because at one point everyone has to be taught about what they are doing and learn new things. Therefore, be outgoing about it because most of the people you meet through 4-H are great people and will be willing to help you.

What are your plans after graduation?

After graduation I will be going to Graceland University to continue my softball career and major in elementary education to become a special education teacher.
