Lois Scott

Lois Scott, 94, of Clearfield died Monday, March 20, 2017, at her home in Clearfield.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 24, at United Methodist Church in Clearfield with the Rev. Michael Shaffer officiating. Burial is in Clearfield Cemetery in Clearfield. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Friday at the church. Memorials are to Clearfield United Methodist Church and American Legion Auxiliary, both in Clearfield. Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Lois, daughter of Marion and Roseanna (Mitchell) Brown, was born Sept. 7, 1922, in Corning. Lois graduated from Corning High School in 1940 and would later graduate as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) in 1970 from Southwestern Community College in Creston.

On Aug. 1, 1942, Lois married Gerald Scott in Grant City, Missouri. In addition to being a farm wife and mother, Lois worked as a LPN at Clearview Home in Clearfield.

Lois is survived by her children, David (Jeannette) Scott of Osceola, Janis (Ed) Johnston of Diagonal and Joyce (David) Sweeney of Lenox; grandchildren, Derek Scott, Deron (Liline) Scott, Scott Johnston, Curt (Mandy) Johnston, Trent (fiancée Sally) Johnston, Angela (Ryan) Reynolds, Erin (Tysen) Christensen and Chris (Anna) Sweeney; great-grandchildren, Adalyn, Ryce and Emma Reynolds, Makenna, Chase and Cole Johnston, Hadlee, Jesa and Zander Christensen; and sisters, Joann Morris of Omaha, Nebraska, Judy (Dennis) Grantham of Denver, Colorado, and Roseanna Walker of Moorhead, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Gerald in 2014; daughter Diana Scott in 2008; brothers, Bernard, Gerald and Clifford Brown and sister Berneita Brown.
