Union County Veterans Affairs
The Union County honor flight program is so thankful for the support we have received from the community. We’ve had two more successful events this winter. The Elks Club sponsored a barbecue beef dinner and raised more than $1,500 and Creston First United Methodist Church had a soup supper and raised another $1,600.
I want to thank the Elks Club, their officers and members for their efforts and sponsorship, the Methodist Church for putting on the soup supper, Boy Scouts for helping with serving and cleanup and VFW Post 1797 for contributing for the food. Their combined efforts and contributions from those who attended will send four more of our deserving veterans on a flight to Washington, D.C., this year.
