Jeremy Craig Hiatt, 42, 926 W. Mills St., was charged on a Union County warrant for interference with corrections officials 2:37 p.m. Friday at Union County Law Enforcement Center.

According to a Creston Police report, on Feb. 21, Hiatt reported to the local office of the Fifth Judicial District Department of Corrections for a parole appointment. At that time, the supervising parole officer requested Hiatt produce a urine sample for purposes of urinalysis screening to determine if Hiatt had been using any prohibited controlled substances. When Hiatt attempted to produce a specimen for testing, a concealed device malfunctioned and released urine on Hiatt’s hands. Upon being confronted, Hiatt produced a homemade device which had been concealed on his person. The device contained “clean” urine obtained from another individual. Hiatt admitted he had been using a controlled substance, marijuana.

Hiatt was released on $1,000 bond.

Trevor Forrest Kinkade, 26, 304 N. Park St., was charged with public intoxication and possession of a controlled substance 10:30 p.m. Friday at Union County Law Enforcement Center.

According to a Creston Police report, Kinkade walked into the law enforcement center intoxicated. Kinkade was charged and consented to the DataMaster, with a test result of .231. Kinkade was also found in possession of a controlled substance, marijuana. A partial marijuana cigarette was found in Kinkade’s wallet.

Kinkade was released on $1,000 bond.

Shawn Jason Parmenter, 40, 500 N. Cherry St., was charged on a Union County warrant for unauthorized possession of offensive weapons 10:40 p.m. Friday in the 500 block of North Cherry Street.

According to a Creston Police report, Parmenter knowingly possessed a shotgun with a barrel shorter than 18 inches, making it an offensive weapon. The shotgun was found in Parmenter’s garage. Parmenter made statements indicating he knew the weapon was in his garage. Witness statements later indicated Parmenter was involved in the act of cutting off the barrel of the shotgun.

Parmenter was released on $5,000 bond.

Kenneth Roy Scott, 46, of Denver, Colorado, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia 6 a.m. Saturday at Union County Law Enforcement Center.

According to a Creston Police report, officers made a traffic stop at 807 W. Taylor St. During the traffic stop, the driver was charged and the passenger, Scott, was later found in possession of drug paraphernalia. There were two clear glass pipes containing what is believed to be methamphetamine residue. Both pipes were found in the passenger’s side door next to where Scott was sitting.

Scott was released on $1,000 bond.
