Danny Guzman, 22, of Des Moines was charged on a Union County warrant for probation violation on an original charge of accessory to a felony 9:10 a.m. Tuesday at Union County Law Enforcement Center.

Guzman was released on $2,000 bond.

Seth Avery White, 19, of Orient was charged with possession of a controlled substance 11:51 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of East Adams and North Walnut streets.

According to a Creston Police report, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and there was a faint odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. When the driver was removing his license plates, officers went to the driver’s side window to inform the passenger of what was going on. Officers saw some marijuana residue on a blanket being used as a seat cover.

When the traffic stop was complete, officers told the driver he was free to go but asked if they could ask a question. The driver said yes and officers asked if they could search the vehicle. The driver said officers could and the resulting search produced a bag with a significant amount of marijuana. The passenger said all the marijuana was his and was charged.

White was released on $300 bond.

Christopher Schell, 28, 603 N. Poplar St., was charged on a Taylor County warrant for violation of probation on an original charge of intent to deliver marijuana and operating while intoxicated 4:24 p.m. Tuesday at his residence.

Schell was released to the custody of Taylor County Sheriff.

Cathy Maynes, 52, 1307 N. Mulberry St., was charged on an Adams County warrant for third-degree harassment 1:44 p.m. Wednesday at Union County Law Enforcement Center.

Maynes was released on $300 bond.

Shaune William Tindle, 30, 217 S. Peterson St., was charged on a Union County warrant for violation of probation 1:18 p.m. Thursday at Union County Law Enforcement Center.

Tindle was being held on $2,000 bond.

James Leroy Jones, 49, 1105 W. Mills St., was charged with public intoxication 11:19 p.m. Thursday at Union County Law Enforcement Center.

According to a Creston Police report, Jones went to the law enforcement center to speak with an officer. While talking with Jones, officers observed an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person, bloodshot and watery eyes and slurred speech. Jones was charged.

Jones was being held on $300 bond.

Cranston Donell Claggett, 23, 905 N. Cherry St., was charged with possession with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia 11 p.m. Thursday at his residence.

According to a Creston Police report, a search warrant was conducted on Claggett’s residence. A large amount of marijuana packaged for sale was discovered in the house, along with other packaging and drug-related items. A marijuana grinder was discovered, along with blunts and joints, in Claggett’s bedroom.

Claggett was being held on $5,000 bond.

Ashley Wilson, 601 Wyoming Ave., reported a PlayStation 3 and two controllers were taken between midnight Feb. 23 and midnight Feb. 24 from her residence.

Loss estimate is $200.
