James Jack Clark, 31, of Pleasant Hill was charged with violation of sex offender registry and fifth-degree theft, and on three Union County warrants for failure to appear for forfeiture hearing on an original charge of sex offender registration violation, failure to appear for forfeiture hearing on an original charge of second-offense sex offender registration violation and failure to appear for forfeiture hearing on an original charge of third-degree burglary and possession of a controlled substance 12:20 p.m. Monday at Wal-Mart.

According to a Creston Police report, Clark told officers he had been in Creston for months and had not filed with the sex offender registry in Union County. Clark also took a cell phone from Wal-Mart, 806 Laurel St., valued at $149 with several prior convictions of theft.

Clark was being held on $9,000 bond.

Skylar Rose Suzanne Wambold, 19, of Ames was charged with fifth-degree theft and Elena Marie Valenzuela, 19, of Ames was charged with fifth-degree theft and possession of a controlled substance 2:24 p.m. Monday at Wal-Mart.

According to a Creston Police report, officers responded to a dispatched call at Wal-Mart, 806 Laurel St. Loss prevention employees had two females seated in the back room and provided statements, video and price of merchandise the two females had jointly acted to take, valued at less than $200. Wambold and Valenzuela were charged and transported to Union County Law Enforcement Center. A post-arrest search prior to transport revealed a small glass jar and grinder containing a green substance consistent in sight and smell to marijuana in Valenzuela’s bag. Valenzuela and Wambold made statements saying they jointly took items but the bag, marijuana and grinder belonged to Valenzuela.

Wambold was released on promise to appear and Valenzuela was released on $300 bond.

Sydney Marie Dimmler, 19, of Corning was charged with operating while intoxicated 11:51 p.m. Monday at Union County Law Enforcement Center.

According to a Creston Police report, Dimmler was the driver of a vehicle stopped for operating without headlights on. During the stop, Dimmler showed signs of impairment. Dimmler consented to field sobriety testing and showed significant signs of impairment. Dimmler consented to a preliminary breath test, which had a result of .000, ruling out alcohol as a source of impairment. Dimmler consented to a urine sample, and the sample was sent to the Department of Criminal Investigations lab and tested positive for THC marijuana. Dimmler admitted to smoking marijuana prior to the stop and admitted to having marijuana on her person.

Dimmler was released on $1,000 bond.
