Briar Cliff and Northwestern are matching up in the Great Plains Athletic Conference men’s college basketball tournament championship game from the Newman-Flanagan Center in Sioux City,

Creston native Jay Wolfe, Nodaway Valley product Jackson Lamb and the Chargers are in search of their second consecutive GPAC Tournament title. To do so, they’ll have to get past their northwest Iowa rival from Orange City.
The Chargers and Raiders split their two meetings this season, each winning on the others home court. Northwestern won 80-65 on Nov. 16 in Sioux City. Briar Cliff won 103-77 on Jan. 18 in Orange City.
Both teams are assured berths at the NAIA Division II national tournament, to be held on March 8-14 at Keeter Gymnasium on the campus of College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Mo.
Briar Cliff earned the league’s automatic berth for winning the regular season crown. Northwestern earned the other bid by reaching the league title game, and with Briar Cliff also in the title game.
