Asking for return of stolen items

From Rev. Delores Doench

Cromwell

The session members of Platte Center United Presbyterian Church (USA) are informing you of a robbery that took place at the church sometime after worship services Feb. 12 and the morning of Monday, Feb. 13. Entrance was gained by breaking the lock on the back door and a second door, entering the kitchen area.

Items that were determined to be missing were worth a little more than $2,000. But the items that were taken had great importance to the members of the church.

Two silver Communion bread plates were taken; they were engraved and dated back to the late 1800s. The tray cover for the Communion trays was taken along with the base for the trays, a home Communion set and a silver baptismal bowl. In addition to these items, part of a small Communion set that had belonged to a church, now closed, was taken.

A report was made to the sheriff’s office.

The church would like the items returned. No questions asked. Please contact Rev. Delores Doench at 642-202-0324 if you would like to return them.
