Rob Marxen

Rob Marxen, 61, of Creston died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017, at his home.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Pearson Family Funeral Service and Cremation Center, 809 W. Montgomery St., in Creston. The Rev. John Rutz of Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate. Visitation with the family present will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20, at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family. Robert Allen Marxen, son of Donald Leroy and Norma Ruth (Brown) Marxen, was born Sept. 1, 1955, in Greenfield. Rob attended school in Creston and graduated from Creston High School with the class of 1974.

In October 1975, Rob married Gayla Jean Clear in Creston. To this union, daughter Brandy Marie was born. Rob and Gayla were later divorced.

Rob spent the majority of his working life in a variety of trades including farming, home construction, over-the-road trucking, working for the DNR and factory work. Most recently, Rob had been employed at Cardinal Glass.

In April 1998, Rob married Constance “Connie” Lee Weihs in Creston.

Rob is survived by his wife, Constance “Connie” (Kannas) Marxen of Creston; daughter Brandy (Jack) Wagner of Creston; step-son Dustin (Christine) Weihs of Clarinda; step-daughter Brianne Weihs of Creston; granddaughters, Paige Marxen of Creston and Alaynna and Caitlin Wagner of Chariton; grandsons, Owen Richards of Creston and Dominic, Connor and Colton Weihs of Clarinda; brothers, Steve (Betty) Marxen of Lenox and Ralph Marxen of Creston; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Rob was preceded in death by his parents; sister Barbara J. Johnson and nephews, Donald L. Driver and Clinton W. Marxen.
