Adair County Health System honors couples to celebrate Heart Health Month

GREENFIELD – Adair County Health System (ACHS) honored seven couples Thursday, Feb. 12, for Heart Health Month.

ACHS staff were asked to nominate Adair County couples who had been married for a “few” years to honor them. A person’s physical health is impacted by their social, emotional and mental health. Honoring these couple gave the staff at ACHS an opportunity to learn from the couples.

Julie Woollums, dietary manager, made a meal of hamballs, cheesy potatoes, green beans and chocolate cherry cheesecake. Linda Kerns, assistant health coach; Trista Grossnickle, cardiac rehab coordinator; Cris Queck, dietary; and Tiffany Johnson, marketing director, served the meal and coordinated the event.

Couples honored were Jeff and Lisa Howard, married 25 years; Paul and Gina Nelson, married 36 years; Marinus and Connie Nielson, married 48 years; Leo and Leone Weinheimer, married 55 years; Franklin (Larry) and Kay Calkins, married 59 years; Bob and Barb Queck, married 61 years; and Jerry and Jean Reed, married 66 years.
