Kasey Lee Cassady, 19, of Earlham was charged with interference with official acts and speeding 5:31 p.m. Jan. 17 in Adair County.

Cassady was released on $300 bond.

James Jeffrey Reese, 62, of Bridgewater was charged with second-offense possession of a controlled substance 2:39 a.m. Jan. 18 in Adair County.

According to an Adair County Sheriff report, officers assisted Cass County Sheriff’s deputies with a search warrant at 402 N. Main St., in Bridgewater. The search warrant Cass County Sheriff’s Office had on the residence was for possession of stolen property.

During the search, what appeared to be an illegal narcotic was discovered inside the residence in multiple rooms. The search was stopped and Adair County Sheriff’s deputies obtained a search warrant for the residence to seize and continue to look for illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia.

During the search, a crystal-like substance white in color was located in several rooms. A green leafy substance was also located in the residence in an upstairs bedroom. The crystal-like substance appeared to be methamphetamine and it later field tested positive for methamphetamine. The green leafy substance appeared to be marijuana and later field tested positive as such. Drug paraphernalia was also found throughout the residence.

Reese was released on $2,000 bond.

Thomas Matthew Connors III, 46, of Omaha, Nebraska, was charged with possession of a controlled substance 3:11 a.m. Jan. 18 in Adair County.

According to an Adair County Sheriff report, officers assisted Cass County Sheriff’s deputies with a search warrant at 402 N. Main St., in Bridgewater. The search warrant Cass County Sheriff’s Office had on the residence was for possession of stolen property.

Matthew Ryan Johnson, 27, of Fontanelle was charged with possession of stolen property 3:44 a.m. Jan. 18 in Adair County.

According to an Adair County Sheriff report, officers assisted Cass County Sheriff’s deputies with a search warrant at 402 N. Main St., in Bridgewater. The search warrant Cass County Sheriff’s Office had on the residence was for possession of stolen property.

During the search, a laptop was located. The laptop was stolen out of Cass County. Johnson said he bought the laptop from another male for $50 and brought it with him to the residence. The laptop is valued at $1,200.

Johnson was released on $5,000 bond.

Mark Elmer Steil, 52, of Des Moines was charged with possession of a controlled substance 4:06 a.m. Jan. 18 in Adair County.

Julie Ann Holmes, 34, of Bridgewater was charged with third-offense possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, and third-offense possession of a controlled substance 4:41 a.m. Jan. 18 in Adair County.

Mark Elmer Steil, 52, of Bridgewater was charged on an Adair County warrant for probation violation 3 p.m. Jan. 18 in Adair County.

Steil was released on $3,000 bond.

Sundiata Ani Edwards, 18, of Des Moines was charged on a Polk County warrant for forgery 9:46 p.m. Jan. 18 in Adair County.

Edwards was transferred to the custody of Polk County Sheriff.

Jason Shane Christensen, 38, of Fontanelle was charged with possession of methamphetamine 5:29 p.m. Jan. 19 in Adair County.

According to an Adair County Sheriff report, a search warrant was conducted at the residence of Christensen. Methamphetamine was located within Christensen’s vehicle. Christensen admitted to knowingly possessing methamphetamine and having purchased it.

Christensen was released on $1,000 bond.

Mark Elmer Steil, 52, of Bridgewater was charged on a Polk County warrant for unauthorized use of credit cards 10:28 p.m. Friday in Adair County.

Steil was being held on no bond.

Andy Joseph Engles, 29, of Greenfield was charged with operating while intoxicated 12:45 a.m. Saturday in Adair County.

According to an Adair County Sheriff report, officers were dispatched to the 2900 block of Highway 92 in Adair County for a suspected intoxicated driver. The reporting party said there was a vehicle stopped in the middle of Highway 92 in the eastbound lane and the driver was out of the vehicle walking around.

Upon officers’ arrival, Engles was placed in handcuffs because he was yelling and in the face of the person who called 911. Engles’ vehicle was parked in the eastbound travel portion of Highway 92. Engles smelled of an alcoholic beverage and had bloodshot, watery eyes. Engles refused standard field sobriety testing at Adair County Sheriff’s Office. Engles did not provide a breath sample on the DataMaster and it was constituted as a refusal.

Engles was released on $1,000 bond.

Ashley M. Warner, 30, of Fontanelle was charged with assault with injury 3:14 a.m. Saturday in Adair County.

According to an Adair County Sheriff report, Warner assaulted a female victim outside the Fontanelle Bar and Grill, located at 412 Main St. Warner and the victim were involved in a verbal altercation regarding a previous incident. Warner struck the victim in the face several times, causing injury, swelling and bleeding to her face. The victim was transported to a hospital by a friend at the scene. There were several witnesses who were able to recreate the incident the same way the victim described it.

Warner was released on $1,000 bond.
