Area wrestling — Bedford/Lenox goes 3-0

BEDFORD — Bedford/Lenox’s wrestling team picked up three wins during a quad in Bedford Tuesday.

Bedford/Lenox defeated East Union 42-36, East Mills 46-21 and Clarinda Academy 66-6.

Bedford/Lenox had two-contested match win evenings from Dylan Heideman at 132, Drew Venteicher at 138, Nate Briggs at 152 and Sam McMillin at 160 and 170.

East Union went 2-1. The Eagles defeated Clarinda Academy 44-6 and East Mills 42-18.

Kessler Tomas was 3-0 for the Eagles at 220 and 285. Sherman Hayes at 126, Memphis Ripperger at 145 and Beau Boswell at 195 and 220 each won two contest matches.

UP NEXT — Bedford/Lenox is at the John J. Harris Tournament Friday and Saturday in Corning.

East Union is at the Interstate 35 Tournament Saturday in Truro.

SW Valley goes 1-1, Mount Ayr 0-2

MOUNT AYR — Southwest Valley’s wrestling team went 1-1 during a triangular Tuesday at Mount Ayr.

The Timberwolves defeated Mount Ayr 51-21, but fell to Van Meter 62-18.

Bryson Rhamy at 195 and Teagan Lundquist at 126 each had two wins for the Timberwolves.

Mount Ayr fell to Van Meter 56-18 in the other dual.

The Naughton brothers led Mount Ayr. Marcus Daughton had a pair of contested wins at 152. Cal Daughton had a first-period pin against Southwest Valley and a forfeit win over Van Meter.
