Southwest Valley 73, Pleasantville 69

CORNING — Chance Cobb scored 23 points in a clutch 73-69 overtime road victory for the Southwest Valley Timberwolves over Pleasantville Friday in Pride of Iowa Conference boys basketball.

Cobb had four assists and five rebounds additionally. Wyatt McAlpin added 17 points and six rebounds and Jace Petersen scored 15.

Nodaway Valley 68, Panorama 48

PANORA — Nodaway Valley shot a blistering 63 percent from the floor inside of the arc and forced 25 turnovers in a 68-48 road win at Panorama Saturday.

Spencer Lamb continued his stellar play with 26 points, 11 rebounds and three steals.

Brady Hilpipre scored 12 points while beau Weinheimer netted 10 points, five assists and four steals.

Lenox 78, Wayne 70

LENOX — Kaleb Anderson filled up the hoop to the tune of 34 points in a 78-70 home win for Lenox over Wayne Friday.

Lenox went 18-of-21 from the free throw line in a close game.

Dawson Tullberg tallied 14 points and eight assists, Trey Whipple scored 11 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Sam Donaldson scored 10 points and hauled in seven rebounds.

Twin Cedars 67, Orient-Macksburg 63

ORIENT — Orient-Macksburg fell 67-63 at home to Twin Cedars Friday.

Dylan Nichols hit seven three-pointers on his way to 41 points, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Sabers at home. Triston Davidson added 10 points.

Moravia 63, Orient-Macksburg 50

Nichols scored 29 points Saturday but the Orient-Macksburg Bulldogs fell 63-50 to Moravia.

Noah Nichols added 12 points and Davidson scored seven.

Girls

Southwest Valley 60, Pleasantville 57

CORNING — Jentry Schafer’s 17 points and 14 rebounds helped the Southwest Valley girls outlast Pleasantville 60-57 at home Friday.

Schafer hit two free throws late to give the Timberwolves’ their 60-57 lead, and Katie Taylor plucked the ball away for a steal to seal the deal.

“I was very pleased with how hard the girls worked,” Southwest Valley coach Allen Naugle said. “This was their third game this week and we kind of hit a wall in the second and third quarters. They were able to fight through it and made the plays to win the game.

Southwest Valley (6-7) hosts Bedford (2-11) Tuesday at 6:15 p.m.

Nodaway Valley 51, Pleasantville 34

PANORA — Class 2A 11th-ranked Panorama handed Nodaway Valley its third loss of the season and second consecutive loss in a 51-34 defeat Saturday.

The Wolverines turned the ball over 20 times as Panorama scored 31 points off of those turnovers. Josie Clarke’s 15 points led Nodaway Valley as Paige McElfish posted 10 points and 12 rebounds. Annie Herr added seven points.

Wayne 47, Lenox 38

LENOX — The Lenox Tigers lost a late lead in the fourth quarter and fell 47-38 Friday.

Jessica Anderson’s 14 points and four made 3-pointers led the way for the Tigers. Katelyn Belding grabbed 17 rebounds to go with four points. Hannah Mitchell scored eight points.

East Union 40, Southeast Warren 30

AFTON — The East Union girls won their second game of the year Friday, defeating Southeast Warren 40-30.

The Eagles went into the fourth with the Warhawks tied, but outscored Southeast Warren 16-6 in the final period.

Sidney McFee had a double-double effort of 13 points, 12 rebounds.

Callie Gossman scored eight points and stole the ball four times.

Alissa Weinkoetz scored eight points and grabbed nine rebounds in her second game of the year.

Twin Cedars 35, Orient-Macksbrug 29

ORIENT — Friday’s game between Orient-Macksburg and Twin Cedars went to overtime but the Bulldogs succumbed 35-29.

Brooklyn Sammons scored nine, while Haylee Gardner, Kaela Eslinger and Katie Walker each scored six.

Moravia 59, Orient-Macksburg 21

The Bulldogs lost to Moravia 59-21 on Saturday.

Katie Walter scored nine points and Cameo Walker added four.
