JV and 7th grade boys basketball results

Eli Loudon poured in 23 points and scored a varsity basket on a solid Saturday for the Panther freshman, as the junior varsity squad won 40-30 over Red Oak.

Also scoring for the Panthers were  Peres Reed 4, Austin Bloyd 4, Kendall Crawford 2, Camden Peterson 2 Mark Waigand 2, Lee Normandeau 2, James McDonald 1.

“We played really well on defense until the final moments of the game,” Panther coach Todd Jacobson said. “The difference in the game was the third quarter. We pushed the tempo in transition and attacked the rim with drives. We had a 19 point lead with three minutes left in the game but they cut it to eight with under a minute left. Our ability to finish games will be a focus this week.”

Red Oak’s top scorers were Carter Bruce (11) and Cole Carlson (9).

Seventh grade

boys split a pair

The Creston seventh grade boys basketball split against Red Oak Monday as the A team lost 44-23 and the B team pulled out a 27-24 win.

The A team surrendered 19 points in the first quarter against the Tigers and could not recover.

Scorers included Derek Paup (12), Brayton Clausen (3), Avery Fuller (2), Khalil Sherrod (2), Chris Wilson (2), Luke Tebbenkamp (2).

In the B game, the Panthers avenged a 16-6 loss earlier in the year to the Tigers with the narrow won.

Scorers were Kane Bowers (10), Luke Tebbenkamp (5), Garett Burkhalter (4), Victor Arevalo (2)  Tyler Loudon (2)  Juan Zamora (2), Tyson Smith (2).
